Painting Workshop: Skopelos, Greece

Sponsored by the Center of Global Education, the Department of Fine and Applied Art, Marymount University, Arlington Virginia and Skopelos Foundation for the Arts. Thomas Xenakis will be teaching Painting: Greek Light/Greek Landscape and an independent study class for undergraduate students from Marymount University in a study abroad experience.

Skopelos Foundation for the Arts
Study painting with Professor Thomas Xenakis, M.A., M.F.A. to create from Greek light, landscape, in a vibrant, beautiful culture. Participants will work in their choice of painting media such as oils, acrylic, watercolors, gouache, tempera, and mixed media. Incorporating visual art instruction and art making, in a beautiful setting and rich culture is a wonderful combination. We welcome you to experience art creation through Tom's range of knowledge about painting and drawing, Hellenic culture, traditions, and language.

Faculty in residence: Villa Le Balze, Georgetown University, Fiesole, Italy.
Thomas Xenakis was selected as faculty in residence to teach study abroad for the Dept. of Art and Art History in Georgetown University's International Programs. The course will focus on Drawing: An Italian Sketchbook. The class will cover a variety of drawing techniques and subject in the environment around the Villa, Fiesole, and Firenze (Florence), Italy.
